"Pinot Paradise" is an oil painting done 'en plein air', on site, at the location. I spent an October afternoon painting in the rows of pinot noir grapes at a local winery. It had been my fantasy to capture the plump, ripe grapes before they were harvested, and I was just in time. The winery was to start harvesting the next day. It felt like a daydream to capture the colors and undulating rows on a misty day surrounded by birdsong.
